This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with SnapSlim, its website, feedback and bug report forms, and related support.
SnapSlim is developed and operated by Kyohei Taniguchi under the Flat Harbor brand.
1. Image processing
SnapSlim processes images locally on your Mac.
Images processed by the SnapSlim application are not uploaded to, stored on, or processed by servers operated by SnapSlim or Flat Harbor.
The operator does not access or view the contents of images you process with the application.
2. Information you choose to provide
The SnapSlim application does not require an account and does not collect personal information through the application itself.
If you choose to submit feedback, report a bug, or send a general inquiry through our contact form, you may voluntarily provide information such as:
- your email address;
- feedback, questions, or support messages;
- your Mac model, chip, macOS version, or SnapSlim version and build;
- steps to reproduce a problem; and
- a link to a screenshot or screen recording that you choose to share.
Feedback and bug reports may be submitted anonymously. Providing an email address is optional.
We generally do not ask for your name. If it becomes useful during an individual support conversation, you may choose to provide a preferred name voluntarily.
Please do not send passwords, payment information, government identification numbers, highly sensitive personal information, or confidential image contents through feedback forms, the contact form, or other support messages.
3. How we use information
Information you voluntarily provide may be used to:
- respond to questions and provide support;
- investigate bugs and technical problems;
- improve features, compatibility, compression quality, and usability;
- contact you for additional details when you have given permission to be contacted about your submission; and
- send occasional SnapSlim release news, early-access benefits, and special offers only when you have separately agreed to receive marketing messages.
Providing an email address does not automatically subscribe you to marketing messages.
Permission to contact you about a particular submission and permission to send marketing messages are treated separately.
Marketing messages may only be sent where marketing consent is recorded and the user has not unsubscribed.
4. Google Forms
SnapSlim currently uses Google Forms for feedback, bug reports, and general contact inquiries.
Information submitted through these forms is processed and stored using Google services and may also be subject to Google's applicable privacy policies and terms.
Google Forms' automatic email-address collection is disabled for SnapSlim's feedback and bug report forms. You may submit either form without providing an email address.
The contact form requires an email address so we can respond. It does not include separate marketing or contact consent checkboxes.
Access to submitted information is limited to the SnapSlim operator and service providers reasonably necessary to operate the forms or related support.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers where reasonably necessary to operate feedback forms, email, website hosting, or support.
Information may also be disclosed where required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid request from a public authority.
6. Data retention
Feedback, bug reports, and related support correspondence are generally retained until the matter is resolved and for up to three months afterward.
If information remains reasonably necessary for an ongoing investigation or product improvement, it may be retained for up to twelve months.
Information may be deleted earlier when it is no longer reasonably necessary.
Marketing consent records are retained while the consent remains active. If you unsubscribe, we may retain the minimum information necessary to record your opt-out and prevent future marketing messages.
7. Your choices and requests
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity verification, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided.
You may withdraw marketing consent at any time using an available unsubscribe method or by using our contact form.
Withdrawing marketing consent does not necessarily stop communications that are directly necessary to respond to an existing support request or submission.
Privacy-related requests may be submitted through our contact form.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect information you provide.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Please do not send passwords, payment information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information through SnapSlim feedback forms, the contact form, or other support channels.
9. International processing
Service providers used for Google Forms, email, website hosting, or related operations may process or store information outside your country or region of residence.
Where applicable, such processing is subject to this Privacy Policy and the terms and safeguards provided by the relevant service providers.
10. Children's privacy
SnapSlim is not specifically directed to children.
We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the SnapSlim application.
If you believe a child has provided personal information through a feedback form, the contact form, or another support channel, please use our contact form. We will review the request and delete the information where appropriate.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as SnapSlim's features, information practices, service providers, or legal requirements change.
When this Policy is updated, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
Where a change materially affects how personal information is handled, additional notice may be provided when reasonably appropriate.
