Terms of Use
Last updated: August 7, 2026
These Terms of Use apply to the SnapSlim application, the SnapSlim website, and related services.
By downloading, installing, or using SnapSlim, you agree to these Terms.
SnapSlim is developed and operated by Kyohei Taniguchi under the Flat Harbor brand.
1. About SnapSlim
SnapSlim is an image optimization application designed to reduce the file size of supported image formats while attempting to preserve visual quality.
Compression results vary, and SnapSlim does not guarantee that every image will become smaller or that visual quality will remain identical to the original.
2. Early Access
SnapSlim is currently provided as an Early Access product.
Features, supported formats, performance, usage limits, compatibility, and other aspects of the product may change as development continues.
Features available during Early Access are not guaranteed to remain unchanged in a future paid version, store version, or other release.
3. Free Early Access usage
At the time of publication, the free Early Access version allows processing of up to 15 images per day.
This limit and other usage conditions may change in the future.
4. Your images and files
You retain your rights in images and files you process with SnapSlim. SnapSlim does not claim ownership of your content.
Image processing is performed locally on your device. Images processed by the SnapSlim application are not uploaded to servers operated by SnapSlim or Flat Harbor.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to use and process the images and files you provide to SnapSlim.
5. Keep backups of important files
SnapSlim is designed not to overwrite original images during normal operation, but you remain responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of important or irreplaceable files.
Do not use SnapSlim as your only backup method.
6. No guarantee of compression results
Compression results depend on factors including the image, format, metadata, and selected processing mode.
SnapSlim does not guarantee a specific compression ratio, quality score, resulting file size, or that every image will be compressed.
When SnapSlim determines that a compressed result does not provide sufficient benefit or does not meet its quality criteria, it may keep the original instead.
7. Acceptable use
SnapSlim may be used for lawful personal and commercial purposes.
You must not use SnapSlim in violation of applicable law or the rights of others.
You must not intentionally interfere with, bypass, or defeat usage limits or security mechanisms.
Except where permitted by applicable law or applicable third-party software licenses, you may not reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute SnapSlim.
8. Intellectual property
SnapSlim, its website, branding, original code, documentation, and related materials are owned by Kyohei Taniguchi or used under applicable licenses.
Third-party software included with SnapSlim remains subject to its applicable licenses and copyright notices.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of SnapSlim or its intellectual property to you.
9. Updates, changes, and discontinuation
SnapSlim may be updated, modified, replaced, or discontinued.
Features, supported formats, compatibility, usage limits, pricing, distribution methods, and availability may change.
Any roadmap or description of planned features on the website is provided for informational purposes only and does not guarantee timing, availability, or final implementation.
10. Disclaimer
SnapSlim is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, no guarantee is made that SnapSlim will always be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every system or image, or free from defects.
We do not guarantee that SnapSlim will meet every individual requirement or produce a particular result for every image.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from the use of or inability to use SnapSlim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law, including liability that cannot legally be excluded for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of important files and reviewing processing results before relying on them for important purposes.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
Except where applicable consumer protection laws provide otherwise, disputes will be handled by a court having jurisdiction under Japanese law.
These Terms do not override rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as SnapSlim's features, business model, distribution methods, or legal requirements change.
When these Terms are updated, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
Where reasonably appropriate, material changes may also be communicated through the website or application.
